Boyan Chowdhury Plays Secret Gig

By some word-of-mouth information that stretched so far that no one knew where it had come from, I attended a secret gig last weekend. The setting was a beautifully lit underpass in the shadow of Birmingham's trendy Mailbox.

The artist in question was Boyan Chowdhury, guitarist with a band from Liverpool, the name of which escapes me now.

Apparently, next week, Serge Pizzorno of some other current band is playing a similar gig somewhere in the city centre. I'll keep you posted.

Regards

P.S. For a more full review of the gig visit Matt Cryer and for more information on secret street gigs visit T-Mobile.

Review: My Photo of Fat Man

Many blogs these days enjoy reviewing things. My pals Matt Cryer and Tom Baker frequently review things on their blogs. Determined not to be left behind, I have decided to join this circus. Not literally 'a circus', I was using a metaphor.

To the left is an incredibly proffessional photograph I took whilst enjoying a weekend in Peterborough. The image portrays a fat man with two other people who appear to be his wife and son. Despite (or maybe because of) his girth, the fat man is taking a distinctly commanding pose, we know immediately from the photo who is boss. If the lad is in fact his son, the fat gene has not been passed down. However it is also possible that the boy is in fact a step-son or nephew. Maybe not even related at all.

The image suggests that the fat man is about to say "woah woah woah there!" or maybe "slow down!" or possibly even "hey hey hey!". Immediately, the viewer is confronted with questions: "where are these people going?", "who are they?", "Is the son bullied at school?", "Is the fat man self conscious about his girth?". The last question is the one that struck me the most. I am incredibly impressed by a chap who can confidently stride-out in this manner despite having what society calls a weight problem.

If you recognise yourself in this photograph, please don't sue me. 8/10

Regards
